Update Day 31:

So after a morning where she spent the day just sleeping, Maggie brought her A Game tonight. When I arrived Maggie was literally trying to pull herself out of her bed, and crawl towards the back of her isolette. I am not saying she crawled but she was grabbing the bedding above her head and kicking and pulling to get out of the white hearted bed she sleeps in. It was pretty amazing to watch, and unfortunately the video we have is way too dark to really capture it.

Maggie also got part 1 of a 2 part blood transfusion, with part 2 coming tomorrow. It seems her "Crit" count was low, close to 30, so they thought that a transfusion today would boost her energy. The Crit count essentially measures your red blood cells. The more ed blood cells you have the easier it is for the oxygen to attach to them and travel through your system. So good times.

We also had an interesting conclusion to tonight's festivities. The fire alarm went off. Apparently something on the 6th floor caused the alarms to go off, but we were given the all clear within about 5 minutes. Of course this brought up some questions on what would happen in caso de emergencia. I was waiting to hear about the state of the alarm fire system, lock down procedures etc.... Instead I was told the nurses put on aprons that have several pockets and put the babies in the pockets and walk out of the hospital. I am glad there is a plan, but I hope we don't have to see it in action.
