Maggie had a pretty quiet day. They didn't do any out of the ordinary tests. Her cultures for the fungal infection are slowly coming back (they take 48-72 hours), one test did come back with prelim results and it was negative. This is one of those cases when negative is a good thing. No word on whether Maggie will need a Broviac inserted at Children's this weekend. Tomorrow should be the last dose of the Vitamin A. Maggie also isn't putting on weight because the infections have cut back on her feeds and the lack of IV points and no PICC line make it hard to feed Maggie the things she needs to grow which why we may need the Broviac line. Maggie's small veins make it hard to put in new IV lines and her leg and arm have been getting a bit puffy from all the work they have done with the IVs in those places. We also had 2 new nurses watching Maggie today, pretty rare that both shifts would be caught by someone we don't know, considering we know so many nurses now. The Neonatologist who was on her 2 week rotation when Maggie was born (and for the first 2 weeks Maggie was in the NICU) was covering tonight so we know at least someone there is familiar with Maggie's history.

Ambizone- for fungal infection
Zosyn - for proactive treatment of NEC symptoms.
