Today was supposed to be a quiet day, but as we have learned there are no quiet days in the NICU. Maggie received a head ultrasound that the neonatologists thought was some cause for concern, however the neurologist said it was nothing to worry about. He seemed to know his stuff we believe him, it was also something that can be monitored very easily. The neurologist also took a look at Maggie's arm and tested her reflexes, he believes her arm injury just needs time to correct itself and Maggie just needs to keep up with her physical therapy.
Maggie also had another X-Ray, and she will be going back on antibiotics for NEC. They will be treating her with Zosyn instead of the clintomycin and ventomycin. The Zosyn has less side effects and is compatible with her current meds. This is still be treated proactively, the NEC has yet to be confirmed as definite.
Maggie also got another blood transfusion today. I am not saying these transfusions have increased since Sue started reading Twilight, but I'm not not saying it either.
Another possibility on the horizon is that we may need to make a return trip to Children's for a small procedure and should only be there overnight. It seems Maggie has small veins and they will have to insert something to help the nurses be able to draw blood. We are hoping to skip this trip, but we shall see.

ambizone - for infection
zosyn - for NEC
Vitamin A - Dose 11 of 12 tomorrow
Eye Exam - Tomorrow
