Summer & Fall with the Murrays

We've been lagging a bit with the updates, so here is a quick recap.  Maggie started in Kindergarten this year and both Sam and PJ started pre-school.  Sam's picking up new words, and phrases every day it is amazing.  Maggie is playing soccer, not liking it, but is loving her new ice skating lessons, where she is a natural.  As a Family, we all ran/walked/strolled the Flutie 5K to raise money for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism.  Nana and Papa Murray medaled in their age group, while Uncle Jay and Courtney killed it pushing PJ in the stroller.  We were the top fundraising team, with my earning Top Individual Fundraising honors, and earning the chance to catch a ball from Doug Flutie (Mission Accomplished!)  So far an exciting Fall, and now the pictures:

Just to document and not rub it in to his amazing dad... But Sam had said mama. SAM SAYS MAMA. MAMA. MAMA. MAMA. Sam still needs to work on the d sound, but i'm sure dada will come soon, I know it. But Sam says mama. We point to my picture and he looks at it and says Mama. He comes into a room and his therapist points at me and says, "Sam who is that?" And he runs across the room to me saying "mama." Best ever.

Also to document, we video taped Sam saying ball, but he also says hi, buh-bye, wawa for water, more and o for open.

Progress... That's all we can pray for. Thank you.

What a Difference a Year Makes...

Autism Awareness Day was yesterday and we thought it would be nice to share some of Sam's progress. We still have a long journey ahead, but he finally has a word. His beautiful voice is starting to come out... Let's hope more and more words follow!!
