A few things about a few people:

The other day Sue and I are at the NICU and there was a call into the NICU desk asking for an update on Maggie. Now, Sue and I are there and we are the only authorized people to get updates from the hospital. Maggie's nurse for the day goes over to see what's going on and gets on the phone. A few minutes later the nurse comes back, turns out it was an off duty NICU nurse calling in just to see how Maggie was doing. Please keep in mind, it wasn't one of the 3 nurses who normally has Maggie, just a nurse who sometimes gets her if the usual Maggie nurses aren't in. Maggie definitely has gained some fans these past 4 months.

As mentioned, Maggie had to go into Childrens today (she is now back at St. E's). As part of the transfer one of the nurses from the NICU had to accompany her. Maggie was accompanied by her Primary nurse which we couldn't be happier about. She's had Maggie since the beginning and knows Maggie's history so she would be helpful in explaining Maggie's history to the doctors and nurses at Childrens. What's even more remarkable? She is in the middle of a week vacation, yet got to the hospital at 6:15am this morning just to accompany Maggie. I've said it not nearly enough, we have some very special nurses, and the two stories above reflect that.

Finally, while at Childrens today, Maggie's Primary nurse ran into a mom and her son who were NICU alumni while we were waiting for Maggie's ride back to St. E's. What was even more extraordinary is that Sue knew who they were because this mom has donated several of the books that now sit at Maggie's bedside and she had left an inscription in the books to the NICU parent reading the books that Sue remembered. Amazing.
